Its amazing what gaining 1 and 3/8 of an inch can do to every sports talk radio station and mock draft in America. Robert Griffin III who was some young man who played QB for some school named Baylor which I believe is in Texas. I believe he also won an award recently that was put into the same pose as Al Bundy.
Anyhow, the Browns were figured to be able to give up there 4th and 22nd overall pick in the first round to the St. Louis Rams to move up to the 2nd overall pick in order to draft the young stud from Baylor who wears odd socks.
Since this new measurement, the Browns are now looking to give up Randy Lerner's first born child, the keys to Cleveland, a limitless MBNA credit card, and a fully loaded Ford F150 delivered by Colt McCoy.
I was ok maybe a week ago with giveing up two first round picks for RGIII, but now with each passing day at the combine, the Rams sit pretty knowing that they can now ask for everything and the kitchen sink for a team that wants/needs to move up and select the Heisman winner.
Here is my issue. Browns need the following (in no particular order):
QB
WR (s)
OLB
DE
K
RB
CB
RT
and a head coach.
As you can see, there are lots of holes to fill and we will have a much tougher time doing so if we end up giving another team possibly 4 draft picks to select ONE player. Its one thing if your team is one or two players away from making a deep run in the playoffs, but when you need upgrades at at pretty much every position but left tackle and center, the decision to give up so much, could end your career as an NFL office exec, and set the team back, again, another 10 years.
So with this being said, lets look at last years free agency pickup. Outside of Usama Young, I cant think of a damn name. With the recent gimpyness of Justin Blackmon and slowing buy surely slipping down draft boards, lets look at the possible WR's on the Browns possible radar.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Chiefs plan to use the franchise tag on free agent Dwayne Bowe.
This is assuming the sides can't reach a long-term deal, which they almost certainly won't before the March 5 franchise deadline. The wideout tag is worth $9.5 million, and Bowe would cost at least $11 million a year to lock up. One GM told Schefter that he anticipates "as many as" 25 franchise tags being used this offseason, largely because the salary numbers are down across the board.

According to the Union-Tribune San Diego's Kevin Acee, "there is (a belief)" free agent Vincent Jackson is willing to give the Chargers a hometown discount.
Acee also reports the franchise tag is considered an "improbable option" for Jackson, and that he's seeking at least a three-year contract. Acee reported Friday the Chargers are "believed" to be willing to give V-Jax a deal worth $11-12 million annually over five years. Not including the Chargers, a "half-dozen teams" have reportedly expressed interest in Jackson at this week's Scouting Combine. Even if the Bolts are willing to give Jackson roughly $55 million over five years, that kind of interest could make him hard to retain if he hits the open market.Source: Union-Tribune San Diego
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Eagles "are listening" to trade offers for DeSean Jackson, who will be franchise tagged before March 5.
The aggressive Eagles, who have become even more so under GM Howie Roseman, are always "listening." In an ideal world, Philly could move on from Jackson and receive a high-round pick in return without having to fork over any monetary compensation. We don't think any team would surrender a first- or second-round pick for Jackson, and that he'll ultimately stay with the Birds.Source: ESPN.com
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that free agent Pierre Garcon recently rejected a five-year contract offer from the Colts.
Monetary details of the proposal are unknown, but Garcon may be targeting Sidney Rice (five years, $41 million) money as opposed to Nate Burleson (five years, $25 million). While Garcon has been pegged by the Colts' organization as a priority to re-sign, he may prefer to test the market at age 25. Despite awful QB play in 2011, Garcon set career highs in catches (70) and yards (947).Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter
Bills GM Buddy Nix shot down speculation that the franchise tag is not an option for free agent WR Stevie Johnson.
"I read in the paper or somebody sent it to me the other day that we definitely were not going to tag him," Nix said. "I don't know who they talked to, I'd like to talk to them maybe see what we're gonna do with some of those other guys. ... Again, (the franchise tag) is an option. We've got until March 5 to decide." Nix confirmed that the Bills have rolled over salary cap dollars from last year, though he's reluctant to say how much.Source: WGR 550 Buffalo
Ok, so what the hell are we gonna do now?
