T-Minus 24 hrs

The magic word of the day is...... AXE . The NFL final cut down day is fast approaching and rumors are flying around all over the league. All teams must have there final rosters down to 53 by 4pm Saturday. With nearly no one notable playing at all during the Browns final preseason game last night who knows who could be left off the list tomorrow. But lets speculate..... First and foremost, Derek Anderson (from WFNY) If we can get a draft pick or another usable OLineman, lets do it. Last I heard was that the Patriots will only have two QB's on the roster by tomorrow. Then the "Lets get a last look at RB James Davis". He may have single handedly extinguished Jamal Lewis's career as a Brown if not entirely. No one questions Lewis's heart or work ethic but it's that time in a running backs career where it's time to hang'em up. His burst, spring, cutting, and speed is next to nothing anymore. If Lewis does get the axe, it will be interesting to see if s...

Brian Robiskie Where Art Thou?

After three games the most talked about Browns '09 draft member Brian Robiskie has been, well lets say, no where to really be seen. Whats the problem? Really there is no problem, unless you count being a rookie a problem. Let's look at it this way, the Browns drafted two rookie wideouts in the 2nd round. It was silly of us to think that both Robiskie and Mohammad Massaquoi (3 catches 44 yds so far) would both be seeing much playing time there first year in the NFL outside of special teams. But Doesn't Brian have a dad that coaches WR's in the NFL? Yes, but no matter how much preparation and coaching a person may receive, only being out on the field can one really put that coaching into practice. With again another entire new regime coaching the Browns, and them weeding out the old players while installing the new, players may be doing things that normally wouldn't be done. Other off season moves. Don't forget that during this offseason we lost (if you wanna ca...

Browns vs Titans Review

Quinn to Win!!! Lineup changes: Adams starts at safety, Rubin at nose, Hall at OLB. Inactives include Rogers, Harrison, Pool, Tucker, Bowens, Brown Wimbley and Mosley team for a sack. Mack starts at center for the second straight week. Cribbs lots of time with the 1st team offense and effective. Quinn looks good so far but they have to settle for a FG. (at least we moved the ball and there were no sacks) Quinn 7/9 for 74 yrds, picking up the blitzs well, what's DA gonna do? DA trips ref, night not starting off well. Sure would be nice to see how Rodgers would affect the pass rush. Blocked FG....NICE. DA in and another screen play. Is it just me or does Quinn not seem to hook up with Edwards like DA does? DA misses a short pass yet again. Get used to the def pass interferance w/out a pass rush. Titan turnover to kill the first half. Titans 7-3 at halftime. Anderson is 4-of-5 for 54 yards. Quinn is 7-of-9 for 74 yards. 3rd quarter starts with DA marching down the field. Edwards with ...

Browns Avoid Preseason Blackout

BEREA, Ohio -- The Browns preseason game Saturday against Detroit will be televised, after all. The club announced it has reached an agreement with WKYC Channel 3 on remaining tickets to avoid a blackout. Approximately 4,800 tickets were available as of this morning, but the Browns and the station agreed to share the cost of the half-price seats. There was no word from the club and what will be done with the unsold tickets. The Browns have not had a preseason or regular-season game blacked out since the 1995 season after then-owner Art Modell announced his intent to move his franchise to Baltimore. by Tony Grossi/Plain Dealer Reporter Tuesday August 18, 2009, 2:38 PM In some additional moves the Browns waived LB Ruud and picked up WR Paul Raymond . Exactly how many receivers do we need? From the looks of it Edwards, Cribbs and Furrey will be the starting three wideouts. The question is will Cribbs or Furrey be playing slot? As anyone who breathes air knows that Brett Favr...
