The Browns' Draft of 2012

Earlier today as I was perusing through the streets of Akron, I was listening to the boys on 923thefan.com, and they came up with a disgusting fact. Since 1999, in just the QB, RB, and WR positions, the Browns have drafted 35 players. Names like Lee Suggs, Braylon Edwards, Brady Quinn, Syndric Steptoe, William Green, Travis Prentice and so on, have been drafted to contribute to the team and the NFL about as much as Paris Hilton has contributed to mankind. Our Brownies continue to be the the near laughing stock on the NFL. With a killer schedule coming up this season, a ton of talent to make this team better and not enough first round picks to fill those holes, I can see the new slogan for the Browns this year: Bark for Barkley The Browns need play makers. I would say more offense than defense at this point. But I don't think that getting a WR or QB at #4 will make this team really any better. I believe the best way to make this team be more competitive is to draft a ...

Give the Ball to Trent Richardson

With just over a week until draft day, the rumor mill (aka speculation mill) is running at ludicrous speed. So anyhow, the Rams and Eagles and maybe half a dozen other team have inquired about trading up in the draft to the Browns #4 pick. Look, getting more picks is a good thing for this team. But at some point we need to get REAL playmakers on the field. I'm talking about top tier studs. I didnt loose much sleep in not getting Falcons WR Julio Jones in last years draft (mostly because I would rather have had AJ Green) but we have to get some difference makers this year. Thats why I want to see the Browns stay at #4 overall and draft Bama RB Trent Richardson. Some of you can bitch all you want about drafting a RB that high, but damn near everyone thinks he's the best RB to come out of college since Adrian Peterson. He can run, catch, and block. How do those things not help this offense from day one? I changed my mind from wanting Justin Blackmon. For mostly character...

What to do in the 2012 NFL Draft

As much as I would like to see Colt McCoy excel as a Brown in the NFL. I don't think that this is going to happen. As a fan of professional football and that of the Cleveland Browns, I want to see every single draft pick excel to a pro-bowl type level. Obviously that would never happen (in any scenario). So, part of me wants to see Colt given another year to mature WITH SOME OFFENSIVE WEAPONS to see what he can really do. However when you have the fourth overall pick and you have a very good shot at picking a much more (all around) athletic QB like Robert Griffin III , its increasingly difficult to keep telling yourself that you would NOT be OK with Colt holding a clipboard next season. Yes, the Browns lead the league in dropped balls, (no thanks to Greg Little) and we had to rely on a practice squad castoff from the Texans to sure up on running game for a couple weeks with all the injuries at running back. (  Chris Ogbonnaya  ) Would a stud WR like Justin Blackmon be...
